- Donald Levine, viola-playing aikido sensei, and Masumi Per Rostad, aiki-playing viola master will offer two workshops in VIOLA-DO, an innovative practice that links aikido ideas and movements with playing string instruments. Masumi is violist with the Pacifica String Quartet and instructor at the U of Illinois School of Music, Don is a 4th-degree black belt and President of Aiki Extensions.
The first workshop takes place at the University of Illinois School of Music, Champaign-Urbana, on Friday, March 14, 7:30-9:00pm, and Saturday, March 15, 10:30am-12pm. The duo repeat the workshop at the Longy School of Music, Cambridge, MA on Friday, April 11, 3:00-5:00 pm.

- Paul Linden offers summer workshop in Columbus: Body Awareness Training as Foundation for Aikido Practice
June 14/15 & June 16/17, 2008
You will learn methods of body and movement awareness education that deepen and improve your skills in Aikido and in teaching Aikido. In addition, you learn how to use these methods outside of Aikido to help people in such areas as stress management, conflict resolution, and daily tasks–from using a computer to playing the violin. Aikido of Berkeley will host a benefit seminar by Shihan Hiroshi Ikeda on Saturday, February 16. During noon break Don Levine will present a slide-illustrated talk about Aiki Extensions' accomplishments and future plans.
